Primary Purpose of Organization Unit:
Established in 2000, the Office for Regional Initiatives exists to provide and facilitate services to the community and region that enhance the educational experiences of students; support workforce development; and expand UNCP's brand reputation and recognition through collaborative partnerships.
The Office for Regional Initiatives provides outreach services to the citizens, businesses, governments and nonprofit organizations throughout the region. These outreach services are executed in collaboration with academic programs to provide conference planning and implementation, continuing education, and youth enrichment programs.
Primary Purpose of Position:
The Continuing Education Program Coordinator is responsible for developing and operating the University's Continuing Education program. This responsibility includes all noncredit courses and programs, community-based education, and customized training for the workforce.This position involves a commitment to customer service, the willingness to work collaboratively in a changing environment, and the skill to work with members of the University community (faculty, staff, and students) as well as those outside of the University community (Subject Matter Expert etc.) who have diverse skills and expertise. The Program Coordinator supports a range of activities related to the planning, development, and execution of programs in a self-sustaining unit.
